FAQs

How much do you charge?

The price of your tattoo is dependent on the design, the placement of the tattoo, and how long the session will take. For an estimate, please fill out my booking form and I’ll get in touch with you as quickly as possible.

How do I book an appointment?

To book an appointment with me, you’ll need to fill out my booking form. Once I’ve had a chance to review it, I will get in touch with you regarding scheduling and any questions you may have. I will then send you a link to submit a deposit. All deposits go towards your tattoo session. If you cancel your appointment within 48 hours of your appointment time, your deposit is non-refundable.

When will I see my design?

After your appointment has been booked, I will begin working on your design. I usually ask for photographs of your desired location of the body at the time of booking. This will allow me to draw your design directly onto your body. I will send your design as soon as I’m able but you can expect to see it at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time.

How do I tip a tattoo artist?

Tips are not required but are greatly appreciated. Every dollar I earn is reinvested into my business. These funds allow me to continue using high-quality tattoo supplies, purchase new art courses, attend tattoo seminars, and more. Personal or thoughtful gifts are also appreciated.

Can I bring guests with me?

Generally no but it depends on the length of the tattoo session and the individual. I may be willing to accommodate one guest per client (over the age of 18) during your tattoo session as long as I’ve approved this in advance.

How can I prepare for a tattoo session?

  • Be well-rested. Get plenty of sleep the night before your tattoo session.
  • Eat a well-balanced, healthy meal ideally 1-2 hours before your appointment.
  • Increase your fluid intake and hydrate. If possible, bring an electrolyte drink and water to drink throughout the duration of the session.
  • Shower before your appointment. Avoid lotion, body spray, or any skin topicals. Gently shave the area that will be tattooed if you’re able to. If the area is sensitive or prone to getting razor burn, I will shave for you.
  • Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and drugs (including over-the-counter pain meds), 24 hours prior to your tattoo appointment. If you show up intoxicated, you will forfeit your deposit and your appointment will have to be rescheduled.

Tattoo aftercare:

Tattoos are open wounds and need to be treated as such. Unless you have a known allergy to certain adhesives, I will cover your tattoo with a tattoo bandage, like Saniderm. This protects your tattoo from bacteria, dirt, dust, pet dander, etc from penetrating the open wound.

I will have you leave the bandage on for 24-48 hours. Afterward, you may gently remove the bandage. Once it has been removed, wash your tattoo under lukewarm water with a mild, antibacterial soap. Then apply a thin layer of aftercare lotion, Lubriderm, or another gentle unscented lotion. I do not recommend using Vaseline or Aquaphor, as it smothers the skin and clogs the pores.

If you’re healing your tattoo without a tattoo bandage, wash the tattoo with a mild soap three times a day. Pat dry with paper towels and keep the tattoo covered with clean clothing. As the tattoo begins to dry out, apply aftercare lotion or a gentle unscented lotion to the area as needed.

Tattoo healing tips:

  • Do not submerge your tattoo in water. Showering is fine but do not soak in a bath, pool, hot tub, etc. until your tattoo is healed.
  • Ensure your clothing, towels, and bedsheets are clean to avoid getting bacteria into your open wound.
  • Stay hydrated. Staying hydrated will improve and moisture of the skin.
  • Do not allow your pets or children to touch your tattoo. Keep them clean and covered until they are healed.
  • Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight for 4 weeks or until healed.
